
Music Training Center's private lesson programs and teaching staff are coordinated by Howard Gordon, an accomplished pianist, composer, multi-media engineer, music instructor, and local performing artist. Howie has a Master's degree in Piano Performance from University of the Arts, where he served as technology coordinator of UA's MIDI and recording studio. Howie performs and has recorded with several local bands and artists including Gravy, the Kevin Hansen Trio, Katie Drake, Anibal Rojas, Carla Gio, and others. He is also an experienced studio musician, working extensively with Grammy® nominated producer David Ivory, and has performed session work at Sonic Recording Studios, Sigma Sound, and Philadelphia International Records. Prior to joining the Music Training Center, Howie was a staff instructor with the Haddonfield School of Performing Arts. Howie is highly skilled in jazz, funk, rock, soul, R&B and classical styles, keyboard-based electronic synthesis, and recording engineering. He uses Digital Performer, Reason and many other recording tools. Howie also has a passion for vintage keyboards and his collection is ever growing. In addition to his performing and teaching, Howie runs Jupiter Studios, a center-city recording studio specializing in electronic music and multi-media production. He has scored soundtracks to several animations, and has composed and produced music for members of the popular funk band Fathead, Family Theater Workshop, and numerous websites. Howie is a recipient of the Steinway Award for Outstanding Pianistic Ability, Musicianship, and Artistic and Academic Scholarship, as well as the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences Award for Excellence in the Field of Music and the Recording Arts and Sciences. |
